CATACLYSM: THE MYST CLIPPER SHICAINE
|
T’Amorach was once a thriving world—until the Cataclysm. An event of unknown origin rendered most of the planet uninhabitable, leaving civilization fractured and confined to vast domed zones. Hundreds of years later, humanity survives in uneasy isolation. The zones are culturally distinct, politically wary, and bound together not by peace, but by necessity. Each controls resources the others need. Trade flourishes. Balance endures—barely.
Between the zones lie the badlands: a hostile wasteland shrouded in caustic, flowing mysts. It is upon these low-lying clouds that the great myst-clipper ships of T’Amorach sail, growing wealthy by carrying goods—and secrets—across a world that can no longer be crossed safely by land. Some ships, however, serve a far more dangerous purpose: smuggling sentient machines to freedom through a hidden underground network. The most legendary of these vessels was the Shicaine—until it vanished. Betrayed during a mission, her crew was captured and scattered across the zones, presumed lost to history. Now, five years later, former crew members are turning up dead. As old alliances fracture and tensions between the zones threaten open war, former captain Nathaniel Gedrick is drawn back into a mystery he never escaped. To uncover the truth, he must reconnect the remnants of a broken crew, confront the consequences of past choices, and uncover who—or what—is willing to tear the world apart to control its future. |
